“At some point, you have to take the plunge”, Elodie Vial enthuses. Once she had her BTS in aesthetics, the young woman quickly felt the need to create her own business. “My husband—who studied business—and I founded our first institute in Pégomas in Summer 2009 with our student savings.” An establishment they grew together from 45 m² to 200 m² as the years went by, and to which they added another two: “We thought it was important not to be getting in each other’s way, and we opened a second business in Antibes in 2014. Then, in 2017, we fell in love with this place in Le Cannet, which reminded us of a Parisian townhouse.” Elodie Vial initially carried out the treatments herself. Then she quickly devoted herself to coordinating a small team of loyal colleagues, without whom the Thetys centres’ expansion would not have been possible. “Anti-ageing and slimming treatments require specific expertise, so this is all we do,” adds this mother of two, who joined the FCE network seven years ago.

Elodie Vial does everything she can to make her clients feel as good as possible about their bodies when they put on their summer swimwear and give them clearer skin, but she is not a magician that can wave her magic wand to achieve zero wrinkles. “No need to wear tons of make-up. Technical solutions exist with effective results. And any treatment must begin with a diagnosis for personalised care.” In each of her three businesses, she makes sure that she is at the forefront with suppliers and keeps up staff training levels. Her husband is more focused on marketing and managing the website for booking appointments. “He is the only man in the team. There are very few men trained in these professions, even though men are taking more and more care of themselves,” concludes this director, who is active on behalf of beauticians in Alpes-Maritimes and involved with the Chamber of Trade.

Working essentially with European suppliers and French cosmetic products, the three treatment centres offer top-of-the-range anti-ageing and slimming programmes, which can sometimes be an alternative to plastic surgery. They offer the famous JetPeel (a precision treatment where the skin is infused rather than injected with hyaluronic acid) as well as cryolipolysis (invented originally as an alternative to liposuction). What treatment is all the rage at the moment at Thetys? “Hifu, an ultrasound treatment to combat natural ptosis that works like a mini facelift by stimulating all the skin layers, right down to the muscle,” adds the director, who has been a beauty technologist for over thirteen years.
