Inborn leadership, unshakeable tenacity, an extensive address book and disconcerting charm! This goodlooking 44-year-old brunette is a leading light in the French hotel industry, and after running the Montalembert in Paris for 10 years, Myriam Kournaff has just been appointed Managing Director of The Family Coppola Resorts. A big feather in the cap of this go-getter who willingly admits to not being a run-of-the-mill manager: "I'm anything but a classic hôtelier, which is also why Francis Ford Coppola appointed me. I had a broad-based university education: two masters, in American civilisation with a cinema specialisation, and in business administration. I never went to catering school but worked my way up until at only 32 I was made manager of the Hôtel Beaurivage in Nice." Always keen on experiences of a different kind, with her characteristic determination Myriam is now throwing herself into this new challenge. The brief? To make the American filmmaker's resort chain better known while conserving its niche positioning and the identity of each component: Blancaneaux Lodge and Turtle Inn in Belize, Palazzo Margherita in Italy, La Lancha in Guatemala and Jardin Escondido in Argentina. That certainly promises excitement!
