This Riviera artist is both a photographer and a graphic designer, working in a huge loft strewn with unusual objects such as cloud-shaped lamps, an illuminated banquette, colourful pixel rugs, kitsch cushions and fake grass! Welcome to the world of Gianni Perrone, who decided to combine his two talents so as to produce truly unique "photo-graphic" portraits of children, each little model featured alone or accompanied by parents, grandparents or indeed the whole family. In his Le Cannet studio, Gianni photographs his model then integrates the child's image into a custom-made décor; using costumes, accessories, digital imagery and 3D ambiences, he creates a staged scene – perhaps innocent, magical or poetic but always imaginative – that forms the picture's backdrop. By "remastering" the portrait in this way, Gianni makes the child the hero of their own fairy tale, the leading character in a story worked out between their parents and the photographer. The little star takes centre stage in a magical world created for them alone, as if in a painting.*
