Many a company manager finds talking to the media no easy art to master, so skilled coaching can make all the difference.
"Whatever we conceive well we express clearly, and words flow with ease." That well-known Boileau quote might sum up the mission Marina Péré has set herself: "The idea that brought me to media training came from working as a press attaché. I noticed company managers were often disconcerted when facing a camera, microphone or journalist taking notes. Even simply communicating an effective message could prove complicated and fraught." As a result, what started as additional advice provided through her job grew to be a fully-fledged service in its own right: delivering targeted coaching in how to express oneself when talking to the media. And "expressing oneself" doesn't just imply clear speech and well-formulated language, it's knowing how to communicate key information – activity, philosophy, teams, products, competition, market etc. – in just a few words, and ensuring your body language backs up what you say. "My job is to take a business manager from 'I need to say' to 'I know how to say'. In other words, flip a switch between uncomfortable situation expressed, often subconsciously, by negative body language such as folded or dangling arms, and positive mindset communicated by a posture that engages, draws in, the listener." In short, to train charismatic speakers!
