You're a young designer and don't know how to commercialise your products? You're a buyer looking for talented new designers? For you both, Pascale Faure has come up with Buy A Trend, a B-to-B subscriber platform that helps buyers and distributers discover new designers. "Talented youngsters always come up against the same problem: finding markets."
That fact led Pascale to set up her business in Nice. The 45-year-old Rivieran studied political science at Aix then worked in banking in Monaco, before her interest in fashion and her own creativity galvanised her into embarking on her venture. "This project is much more suited to my personality." Pascale often heads off to trade fairs in Paris and Milan to hunt out new talents, ranging from designers such as Giovanna Pace, who makes limited quantities of jewellery and bags in furnishing fabrics, to semi-industrial producers of the likes of Wala with its original collection of transformable garments.
Pascale opens up opportunities for them via her extensive database of 150 sales outlets around the world. "My idea is to promote creativity as much as possible so we can get away from the dictates of single brand retailing," she explains enthusiastically, then announces her next project: open a showroom in Nice.
