“My family is important to me, I can’t go any length of time without seeing them.”
With a delightful simplicity, Pauline Ducruet shares her energy between business and
charity activities and her time between New York, Monaco and Paris. Whether clad in
an haute-couture gala gown or an oversized denim jacket, this young lady communicates
the same relaxed but inherently elegant attitude. For the last four years New York has been her home, but she’s never away from Monaco for very long. “My family is important to me,
I can’t go any length of time without seeing them,” Prince Albert’s niece confides. Most recently her time has been taken up by the Influencer Awards Monaco, a new event spotlighting the most influential Instagramers and web stars of the moment. “Lolita Abraham suggested this wild idea to me a year ago and I just went for it.” The jury’s president of honour describes the event’s two days as “a waking dream”. More than 48,000 people follow Pauline’s Instagram posts, yet she doesn’t see herself as an influencer. “I haven’t built my community on social media, I have followers because my life attracts people’s and media attention; but I try to stay as genuine as possible and show myself as I really am.” After graduating from New York’s prestigious Parsons School of Design, 24-year-old Pauline is now working on making her “girlhood dream” come true, by launching a line of casual streetwear in 2019. “It will be unisex clothing. Our generation doesn’t really differentiate now between men’s and women’s lines. I wear an awful lot of men’s clothes.” Her inspirations? The Calvin Klein label and New York. “Here anyone can wear anything. No one is judged.” Despite all this going on, Pauline doesn’t neglect her commitments: “I’m very engaged in Seeds of Africa, the charity that works to further education in Ethiopia.” Then there’s the upcoming edition of the New Generation circus competition for young performers, co-founded with her mother, Princess Stéphanie.
