After 20 years working in the telecoms and mobile software industry, in 2017 Guilhem Ensuque launched his own business in Sophia-Antipolis. “I wanted to build a garden cabin and discovered I had to make a preliminary works declaration or even obtain planning approval, and that these authorisations had to be displayed on-site all the time work was in progress. I also learnt that if I couldn’t prove I had complied with this, up to six months after the building’s completion a neighbour could go to court to have planning approval annulled.” So Ensuque worked out a legally recognised way of utilising smartphones to prove the authorisations were on display throughout the requisite period. Attestis was born! By means of an internet platform, smartphone app and QR-code stickers, his firm now covers that legal aspect of building swimming pools, houses and extensions, as well as installing connected panels for property developers and social landlords.
