Riviera medical professionals put their commitment and inventiveness at the service of patient health. The Palmes jury is preparing to choose the 2020 edition award winners shortly.
Innovation in paediatric scoliosis surgery, use of Artificial Intelligence to detect breast cancer, advances in bone marrow transplantation, new dietary behaviours... All front and centre in the 1st edition of the Palmes de la Médecine last year. An event organised by the City of Nice, in partnership with the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice and the Faculty of Medicine at Nice Sophia Antipolis University, with the support of Dr Jean-Patrick Benkemoun and COTE Magazine. The 2nd edition has already been set in train by the selection of a jury of experts composed of doctors, midwives, nurses, physiotherapists and other health sector professionals. Having elected Prof. Pierre Marty as jury president, and Dr. Sylvia Benzaken as general secretary, each member must now present a well-founded selection of candidates who put the French Riviera on the map with their commitment to serving patients. A dozen or so men and women will be chosen to receive an award next autumn as part of Health for All Day, organised in collaboration with the City of Nice. Tol include talks on public health and innovation, exciting lectures given by all award winners and the presence of an "impartial observer".
