This L-shaped, single-storey public-amenity building stands on a rocky plateau at the edge of the vast, emblematic village green. The media library in the upper part of the site appears as a continuation of the hillside terracing. The building's very mineral outer aspect contrasts with the extensive, ever-verdant village green and is softened by the presence of leafy full-grown trees that in winter cast shadows over the concrete façades. Throughout, the architect has sought visual connections with the landscape and village. The naturally lit multipurpose hall is accessed by a light-filled gallery lined in painted wood and fitted with shutters, running beneath the wide concrete canopy.
