To prepare for increasing air traffic and continue providing the high-quality services that its appreciative passengers expect, the airport has launched two new projects. The first is to build a new pierhead so as to provide more boarding gates (delivery in mid-2021). Secondly, a new Terminal building (not a low-cost extension) is planned for 2022-23, to deal with arrival and departure requirements – checking in, luggage sorting and delivery etc. – in line with the latest security and safety standards. Dominique Thillaud, who chairs the airports executive board, tells us: "We take our region's development very seriously, with the intention of providing every means to further increase its attractiveness. These investments will enable Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to stay up to the mark and maintain the ambitious standards fixed for the quality of our service to resident and foreign flyers."
