The Riviera spirit’s comeback

After two years of work, the Croisette has regained one of its most precious jewels 

with the reopening of its legendary hotel.

The Carlton has reopened its doors, rendered sublime and respected, a blend of heritage and modernity. The renovation, led by Richard Lavelle and Tristan Auer, is breathtaking. No less than 750 people and 450 companies from all sectors – including many skilled trades – worked meticulously and with passion. A new lease of life has been given to the legendary facade, topped by its two iconic dome. Two additional wings to the rear of the Carlton gently wrap around the original building, creating a secret garden planted with Mediterranean species. A cloister-like peristyle, beckoning you to stroll in peace, leads to the infinity pool. Step through the legendary revolving door into the hotel, and the natural light streaming through will overwhelm you. The columns have been restored to the original marbled stucco, while custom-designed chandeliers and lighting fixtures play with shades of transparency. The hues of the various living areas are reminiscent of the coastline’s ever-changing colours. The 369 rooms and suites, along with the 37 new residences, offer hyper-luxury service and facilities and open generously onto the Big Blue in panoramic mode or the garden in complete serenity. The culinary offering is in tune, with Chef Laurent Bunel orchestrating the Riviera and the Carlton Beach. The end of May also sees the opening of Rüya, the first Anatolian restaurant in the region. Guests can explore the world of rare teas in the Camelia tea lounge while the shaker dance in the emblematic Bar°58 produces creative seasonal cocktails.
