Open Festival Marseille
Short films
Head to Pathé Joliette on 14 October, where we’re all invited to watch some thirty short films free of charge and vote for the Audience Award.

What a response this festival has generated among short filmmakers! A challenging charter - a recent fiction film, no longer than 15 minutes, French language or with French subtitles - but around 700 films were nonetheless registered. A team of volunteers, led by Festival President Christian Betti, has come together to bring this event to fruition. They came from all walks of life and different age groups, patiently sharing their points of view over several months, their task being to pre-select 30 films and entrust the final ranking to the jury and audience. It’s an excellent opportunity for the public to rediscover the joy of cinema free of charge and meet up with young talent and those responsible for training in the film industry. So, head for the darkened auditorium to see who the next big thing in cinema could be. A marathon day lies in store, with presentations from directors and other film professionals flying their flags and that of the industry.
