Whilst City cars and saloons were the first to be impacted by hybrid and electric modes, 2023 marks the extension of these types of engines to hyper-SUVs and ultra-sports cars. With some pleasant surprises ahead!

What if the real luxury was space?

Indeed, the new Renault Espace has yielded to the calls of the SUV and continues to offer ultra-comfort with 7 to 5 seats and nearly 800 liters of boot space, Active Driver Assist for autopilot and the powerful Android Auto with more than 50 on-board applications. It claims 80% electric driving in the city and a range of up to 1,100 km. It has an even more assertive look with the “Alpine Spirit” version, with its exclusive shale grey satin paintwork, sporty front slat, black checkered radiator grille and 20” Daytona alloy wheels.

The KIA EV9, a 100% electric 7-seater

Here is the first of 15 electric models that Kia will market by 2027. The EV9 is a spacious and stylish vehicle. It combines ruggedness, sophistication and cutting-edge technology with bold styling, versatility and multiple connectivity, while staying true to Kia’s iconic design philosophy of “Opposites United.” It is the first Kia vehicle to be updated via the Kia Connect Store and adopts the latest generation of active highway driving assistance as standard.

A new era for Volvo: the EX30 and EX90

The Swedish brand’s flagship EX90 available in 2024, and its little brother EX30 mark the complete renewal of the range. All electric and designed with natural and recycled materials, they embody Volvo’s ambitions to become 100% electric by 2030 and climate neutral by 2040. The Volvo EX90 is a large 7-seater SUV, with distinctive lines and a design specific to the Swedish brand, which exploits artificial intelligence through a central computer (Core Computing), 5G connectivity, the latest generation sensors (Lidar) and electronics dedicated to safety, performance and the on-board experience.

Velar, Range Rover’s vision of the future

With its new minimalist design, combined with sophisticated connectivity and state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid technology, 2.2 tonnes per 2.2 litres per 100 km, the 2023 Range Rover Velar is the purest expression of modern luxury, featuring the latest technology, brand refinement, unprecedented driving silence and spectacular design.  It is clean and minimalist and inaugurates the new generation of Pivi Pro, the infotainment system that offers digital control of all steering functions, comfort and convenience.

Peace and Love 2.0: the VW ID.Buzz

Inspired by the design of the Combi, the new ID. Buzz combines timeless lines with state-of-the-art technology and a new sense of space. It is an intelligent and friendly driving companion, ready for adventure. Its overall sustainability for an environmentally friendly future is a commitment of VW. The new ID. Buzz comes with a carbon neutral footprint as it does not produce carbon during use. Thanks to its non-animal leather interior and the use of recycled materials in seat, floor and roof coverings, it combines eco-responsibility and comfort.

Eletre: Life style Lotus with the family

The Eletre is the antithesis of its creator (Colin Chapman’s) ideology that “light is right”. With a weight of 2.6 t (more than 3 times that of the Elise), a length of 5.10 m, a width of 2.13 m and a height of 1.63 m, the Eletre goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. With this kind of outstanding performance and immersive digital cockpit, the Eletre has retained Lotus’ DNA. Moreover, it has taken the heart and soul of the brand’s latest sports car, the Emira, and the revolutionary aerodynamics of the 100% electric Evija hypercar to reinterpret them as a hyper SUV.

Maserati’s lightning: the GranTurismo Folgore

The Folgore’s powertrain is inspired by Formula E technology, including silicon carbide inverters to better channel energy and improve performance. And it works, since Folgore goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 320 km/h! A state-of-the-art 92.5 kWh battery, three powerful 300 kW permanent magnet motors for 830 hp in its Corsa mode. Matching power, unprecedented top electric speeds, astonishing acceleration and sensational agility: yes, the Folgore is a true Trident sports car!

Peace and Love 2.0 : le VW ID.Buzz

The Smart is an SUV you say! And what’s more, it’s all electric! Welcome to Smart #1. If its proportions are the opposite of what Swatch’s inventor Nicolas Hayek had in mind, the values putting the driver back at the center of the city are present. Smart #1 puts the user first, leveraging human-centric technology to connect people, places and experiences. It features an avatar as a smart companion, with AI-based voice control in its 3D user interface. This compact SUV also has a digital key to share your vehicle with friends.

The Cayenne hybridizes even stronger

20 years ago, the Cayenne saved the Stuttgart brand and made fundamentalists roar. Today, Porsche is revisiting it with a reworked design, a new digital cockpit, a revamped chassis and new engines, including a plug-in hybridization. The new Cayenne E-Hybrid surpasses its predecessor in at least three areas: an all-electric range of 90 km, an electric motor output of 176 hp (for a cumulative power of 470 hp), a battery capacity of 25.9 kWh (compared to 17.9 kWh for the previous model), combined with an increased charging speed.
