The arts centre dedicated to young artists turns its spotlight on the fantastical world of Mcbess (aka Matthieu Bessudo), which revolves around food, music and cartoons. Founded on imagery drawn from old cartoons then mixed with ultra-contemporary references, this world is hallmarked by a profusion of detailing and as many allusions. The Cannes-born illustrator, who has worked with the famed London visual-effects studio The Mill since 2007, opens the doors of his imagination to us with a humorous disillusionment. As well as drawings, prints, vinyl and videos, he has brought us artworks created specially for this exhibition. Don’t miss an opportunity to discover Mcbess’s surrealist universe peopled by ghosts, musicians and fantasy sprites in haunted cities and on heavenly beaches.
