For decades little girls have dreamed multiple lives for her, from riffing on Jackie Kennedy wrapped in red velvet haute couture through suited businesswoman to out-and-out party girl. On her 60th birthday, Barbie nostalgics can admire her in many guises at the Bibliothèque Louis Nucéra, for the iconic doll is paying the Riviera a visit until 25 May. Thanks to a private collector’s loan of 200 Barbies, the Mattel superstar born 9 March 1959 at New York’s toy fair is on the Côte d’Azur for an exhibition entitled “Miss B’s Dream Life”. From gingham skirt to on-fleek look, her clothes tell the story of fashion from the Fifties, and take us on a fabulous trip back through childhood!
