How do pottery and art connect? Three mixed-media artists working in Vallauris attempt some answers. Marc Alberghina’s bitter-sweet pieces with their suggestive orifices speak of Vallauris’s painful relationship with its artisan heritage; Eric Andréatta seizes on ordinary kitchen objects in order to provoke a destabilising visual experience; through her series of earthenware busts Catherine Ferrari initiates a dialogue with the hugely popular pieces that Picasso created in the Madoura pottery. This exhibition specifically grounded in location can be seen at the Madoura pottery and former shop, on the corner of Avenue Clemenceau.
