Why do we wash? To answer that question or simply to learn more about our bathing habits, head to the Bath, Bubbles and Beauty exhibition in Grasse (until 30 September), which decodes Western practices of bathing and toiletry from the 18th century to the present day by analysing everyday life. And no better way to illustrate our habits than through a collection of items essential to our ablutions, led by that ambassador of cleanliness, our old friend soap, smoothing the transition between the various hygiene themes examined.
