The Imaginary Sea.
Focused on contemporary creation and photojournalism, the foundation has drawn inspiration from its island environment for this third exhibition, curated by the American writer and gallery owner Chris Sharp. It celebrates the sea not only as a marvellous resource but also as an underwater world that is disappearing. An art epic ranging from Matisse and Yves Klein to Manuel Barceló’s Neptunian fauna and Janaina Mello Landini’s rope ramifications. A sort of underwater natural history museum questioning the interaction between our civilisation and the underwater world. Continuing at the Fort Sainte-Agathe and the Villa Noailles with Nicolas Floc’h’s photos of the seabed at Porquerolles.
