His huge steel sculptures can be seen in exhibitions from Seoul to the Palace of Versailles, and now Bernar Venet is inviting us to come in summer and discover his collection on his 4ha property in Le Muy (booking essential). This veritable museum of minimal and conceptual art showcases his own works alongside pieces acquired from such greats as Donald Judd and Andy Warhol. “Because these artworks were produced for cultural reasons they belong to us all, they’re for everyone to look at, enjoy and study.“ It took 25 years to get the property ready: restoring the old mill and the factory where the artworks are displayed, building a gallery like a silver shell and a suspended tunnel connecting the sculpture park – with a new piece produced specially for the occasion – to the chapel designed by Frank Stella and featuring six of his recent relief sculptures.
