After “legendary violins“ singing under the most illustrious bows these last six years, the spotlight turns to other instruments in this new music festival running from 9 to 20 September, its concept being great classical music played in iconic venues by international virtuosi. Famous trumpet player Serguei Milkhailovich Nakariakov, nicknamed “the Paganini of the trumpet“, opens the festivities, followed by violinist Tatiana Samouil performing on her Stradivarius once owned by Fritz Kreisler, pianist Jean-François Zygel playing variations on Beethoven, and on the last night the offbeat DéSAXés marking the 200th anniversary of Adolph Sax’s birth with their popular show that revisits some of music’s greatest classics with humour and, of course, top-class sax playing.
