Villa Cameline à Nice
20 years in contemporary art.

20 years in contemporary art.
La Maison abandonnée – Villa Cameline, has been supporting emerging artists since 2003! Here, surrounded by walls that bear the signs of passing time, far from the pristine white surfaces usually seen in galleries and museums, Hélène Fincker has been shining her spotlight on visual artists for 20 years in collective exhibitions such as the Cabinets Utopiques, Atomique and Pique-Nique, as well as solo shows. It is now Amandine Maillot’s turn to take up residence in this early twentieth-century house. Hers is a long-awaited exhibition, because it was supposed to open three years ago, when Covid-19 broke out. The unfinished exhibition picks up where it left off, with the artist evoking the fragility of bodies through household objects.
