French singer-songwriters are as a popular as ever, and following some great new albums it's now tour time! The positively Shakespearean Vincent Delerm is playing the TNN in Nice on 2 December, a chance to discover his "shadow theatre" in Aurélien Bory's two-part staging that goes for simplicity so as not to detract from the power and depth of Delerm's Amants Parallèles album's lyrics. His only props will be an overhead projector and two pianos, one played by his own expert hands, the other by an unseen electro-ghost. An hour and a half of romantic ballads plus the singer's past successes. Preceding him on 29 November at the Salle Juliette Gréco in Carros, Breton musician Bertrand Belin is sure to wow his audience with his warm voice and the poetic lyrics of his latest album, Parcs. This literary songwriter not often in the media spotlight is adept at blending words and music with an undercurrent of cynicism.
