NICE JAZZ FESTIVAL

A line-up to remember

World-famous names and talented newcomers come together: Keziah Jones, Ben l’Oncle Soul, Ibrahim Maalouf, Deep Purple, Gypsy Kings, De la Soul, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Joshua Redman’s quartet… for its 65th year the Nice Jazz Festival is eclectic, to say the least! Jazz musicians will rub shoulders with rockers, soul singers
and electro performers in six concerts a night at the Théâtre de Verdure and on the Masséna stage, not forgetting the fringe festival in the city centre. Since moving from the Arènes de Cimiez the festival has built up a big following: 38,000 people attended last year! Local lad Richard Galliano, the amazing accordionist, starts off this year’s festival, which additionally joins forces with the 20 000 Vies charity to promote the installation of defibrillators. Music can save lives too.
