The 2014 Monaco Dance Forum's programme is eclectic to say the least. The absolute must is the piece that Jean-Christophe Maillot, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo's director and choreographer, created last July in Moscow with the Bolshoi Ballet. Shakespeare brought them together, and now their Taming of the Shrew that was a summer hit in the Russian capital is being staged at the Grimaldi Forum from 19 to 21 December. Then from 28 to 31 December Monaco's ballet troupe is performing its version of Faust, mixing several artistic disciplines. A further delight is Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's return to the Opéra Garnier's stage on 13 and 14 December with his Genesis created with Chinese dancer Yabin Wang. Two last names, Maguy Marin and Emanuel Gat, will further convince you of the quality of this year's dance festival.
