Fact: Russia's classical music teaching is excellent, reputedly one of the world's best. And proof is brought us by the Saint Petersburg Klassika state symphony orchestra formed in 1992. Comprising conservatoire graduates and international competition winners, the 70-strong young ensemble rapidly won the respect of music lovers and professionals alike, excelling in all genres (symphony, opera, ballet) and now regularly performing to packed houses in the USA and UK, Finland, Germany, Japan and elsewhere. In Monaco, the Klassika will demonstrate its talents in a symphonic version of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin featuring Mariinskiy Theatre soloists Svetlana Kiseleva and Vladimir Tzelebrovsky. A concert organised jointly by Miss Y Events Monaco and the Russian Ministry for Culture.
