Biot

  • The Capron family of potters.

 Capron P4240072

Les sculptures colorées de Roger et Jacotte Capron s’installent au musée et dans toute la ville de Biot.

This summer Biot’s regionally focused History and Ceramics Museum pays tribute to three generations of the Capron family, which alongside Picasso, Picault, Derval and many others helped make Vallauris renowned. Back in 1946, Roger Capron set up his studio there and rapidly went on to craft tiles, tables and architectural ceramics, one notable customer being the Hôtel Byblos in Saint-Tropez. Today his wife and partner Jacqueline, likewise a noted ceramist who loves combining materials and colours, carries on the family tradition with son Philippe and grandson Louis, who have both in turn become potters.
