This museum’s colourful frontage is a strong visual signal to visitors, composed as it is of a superb mosaic ground from which emerge two sport-themed high-reliefs. Thanks to meticulous restoration it once more expresses all the vigour with which Fernand Léger originally imbued it. Inside, an exhibition chronicles the genesis of this
monumental work, commissioned for the new stadium in Hanover but finally created in Biot, along with its stage-by-stage renovation. A welcome opportunity to discover the techniques employed by the proponent of “tubism” to bring art into the city.
