Musée Escoffier Villeneuve-Loubet

A culinary muse. Gourmets and fashionistas take heed: haute couture has invaded the museum of culinary art in the house where Auguste Escoffier, inventor of modern cuisine, was born. The place is a history lesson in itself, what with a roasting spit flanked by cake moulds, a fully equipped Provençal kitchen, a professional stove from the 50s and more. The fashion students at the Cours Aline Buffet in Cannes came here and let their imaginations run riot to create 11 dresses inspired by the right-royal chef, drawing inspiration from spices, sweets and wines but also menus, toques and cooking utensils. An exhibition to savour, with gourmet touches by chefs Philippe Cornet, Bruno Laffargue and Christian Sinicropi for the chocolate, macaroon and citrus dresses respectively
