This autumn’s festival takes us on a journey through jazz today, loyal to tradition but equally open to creativity and every musical trend. For its 10th anniversary the festival spotlights vocalists, with the glamorous Melody Gardot, Gregory Porter’s far-reaching baritone, Selah Sue with her blues and rock songs, plus Italian crooner Paolo Conte and the legendary Barbara Hendricks. In addition it welcomes talented young musicians such as Richard Manetti, who grew up with gypsy swing, likewise pianist Thomas Enhco, the avant-garde UK band Gogo Penguin, and Cory Henri and The Funk Apostles representing a new generation of jazz musicians. Finally, Avishai Cohen is premièring his composition for the Monaco Philharmonic Orchestra and bass player Marcus Miller returns with his latest album, Afrodeezia.
