This play written and directed by British master of theatre Peter Brook and his long-standing assistant, Marie-Hélène Estienne, is coming to the stage of the Centre Dramatique National in Nice. It’s a stripped-back drama out of which highly existential questions arise, with snatches of music accompanying its three actors telling the story of Sammy, who is endowed with an extraordinary memory but little by little finds his gift turning into a nightmare. A serious subject but treated with British humour, it moves us and makes us laugh, with humanity.
