 DP Warhol Basquiat Vence 5

After Andres Serrano’s photographs and Adel Abdessemed’s sculptures, the Yvon Lambert Collection is now displaying more of its treasures in the exhibition De Warhol à Basquiat: painting in all its forms, the image as icon, death-imbued screen prints as in the Electric Chairs series. Alongside the two friends and acolytes we discover too the eclectic taste of the collector himself via masterpieces including by Jean-Charles Blais and avant-garde film pioneer Jonas Mekas. The exhibition also shows Julian Schnabel’s film about Jean-Michel Basquiat, with David Bowie playing the emblematic Pop Art artist who lived fast and died young.
