Jacques Martinez questions every material, shape and gesture. This exhibition produced by the MAMAC in Nice demonstrates the painter’s many techniques and his imagination, in two separate galleries. The Galerie de la Marine’s The Battle of the Hours concentrates on black-and-white pieces illustrating his studio work, while the Galerie des Ponchettes does the colour by showing 11 large canvases in The Battle of the Flowers.
