Programme has a myriad of surprises up its sleeve for Salle Garnier. After the Académie Princesse Grace gala spotlighting the dance school’s talented pupils from 24 to 26 June, the high point comes with an exceptional performance of Letter to A Man from 30 June to 3 July. This creation by director Robert Wilson with legendary dancer Mikhail Barysnikov has the latter invoking a poignant intimate world inspired by Vaslav Nijinsky’s diary. From 21 to 24 July the spotlight turns on the work of two up-and-coming figures on the dance scene: Jeroen Verbruggen and Vladimir Varnava, each invited to create a choreography for Monte-Carlo’s ballet company. To end the season, Jean-Christophe Maillot whisks audiences off to Verona with his Roméo et Juliette from 28 to 30 July.
