The gallery is a showcase for two exhibitions this summer: Delete, in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and Shades of Blue, with children’s charity Mission Enfance.

The Opera Gallery Monaco and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation are carrying out an awareness-raising campaign called ‘Delete?’ with French wildlife painter Thierry Bisch. “I’ve been painting animals for decades. Some of my models have become endangered species right before my eyes. So I decided to show them to the public and ask the question ‘Delete?’. The answer is in your hands,” explains the artist. Since May, 20 of his paintings have been on show in a touring exhibition held in some of the Principality’s most famous buildings, including the Hôtel Hermitage, the Musée Océanographique and Tour Odéon. The work is on display and available to buy at the Opera Gallery from 29 June to 10 July, with a portion of the sales proceeds being donated to the Foundation. Until the end of August, tarpaulins, wall murals (including one to remain permanent) and projections based on Thierry Bisch’s paintings will also be on show throughout Monaco. Every summer the Opera Gallery also presents an exhibition of masterpieces by iconic figures in modern and contemporary art, donating a percentage of the sales proceeds to Mission Enfance, a Monegasque charity working to improve literacy and peace among children all over the world. Shades of Blue, taking place from 12 July to 31 August, explores the history of blue in art. A key colour from Antiquity to the Renaissance, it was given new meaning by Matisse, Kandinsky and Klein. Symbolising the mind, blue unites through its universality.
