In 1988 Jacques Séchaud, who had taught visual arts in Nice, began a set of drawings of César. Impressed by the quality of his work, the sculptor suggested Séchaud show them to Jean Ferrero, who commissioned two series, of César and his friend Arman. Over four years Séchaud produced 300-plus drawings of which the Nice gallery is now displaying a selection. Discreet but giving his imagination a free rein, Séchaud pays tribute to two spearheads of Nouveau Réalisme.
