Fancy investigating the treasures that have lain off our coast in dozens of wrecks and strewn across the seabed? The Regional Prehistory Museum displays cultural artefacts discovered by avid divers from the Rade de Villefranche along the Alpes-Maritimes and Var coastlines to Corsica. Greek and Roman amphorae and crockery, bronze naval guns and other weapons, glassware and jewellery... testifying to the history of this region and its sailors, traders, travellers and soldiers. “We’ve chosen to spotlight the modern and contemporary eras,” enthuses Eric Dulière, president of the Anao association and curator of the Trésors d’Epaves exhibition that also includes model ships, deep-sea diving suits and photos.
