For its 20th year the Nuits du Sud summer music festival doubles up with a spring version inviting concert-goers to party together in a venue installed for the occasion on Place du Grand-Jardin. Discover six-man Vocal Sampling’s Cuban beatbox, touring the world with their latest album, and the bewitching Leyla McCalla from New York, visiting the Louisiana bayou, Haitian folklore and places in between. Dance to the sexy rhythms of the Michel Jonasz Quartet formed of the prince of swing himself, drummer Manu Katché, double bass player Jérôme Regard and virtuoso pianist Jean-Yves d’Angelo. This first spring festival also delivers laughter from stand-up comic Sophia Aram, who has been skewering current affairs on France Inter radio for four years and shakes up our ideas about today with kindly impertinence.
