Do investigate Philippe Ramette’s summer exhibition in Cagnes-sur-Mer’s open-air shopping mall. The hallmarks of this major French artist and former Villa Arson resident? Toying with our perceptions, defying logic and gravity, demonstrating through absurdity boosted by self-derision. He has installed his sculptures as if in a treasure hunt from the Polygone’s entrance to its Quartier des Designers. By challenging how we perceive things, these artworks encourage us to enlarge our experience of the world by thinking. From Metaphysical Hesitation inviting us to lose ourselves to View Point inciting us to look upwards, each tips its surroundings into another dimension. Together they create a neo-romantic trail on the cusp of dream and reality.
