A bust of Caracalla drawn by Henri Matisse alongside one of the emperor sculpted in marble during his reign. The Mougins museum that exhibits a rich collection of antique sculptures, vases, jewellery and coins alongside modern and contemporary artworks is rife with initiatives for attracting all sorts of visitors. In addition to Mythology Wednesdays for the kids and talks by experts, this month it’s running guided tours for children or all comers to discover archaeology through its fascinating collection.
