Chagall is best known for his colourful paintings but he experimented with numerous techniques including engraving, stained glass, mosaic, tapestry and sculpture, the latter among his practices least known to the public. He began to learn about three-dimensional modelling in clay in 1949 after moving to Vence, then went on to work in stone, producing almost 100 pieces on his favourite subjects: love, animals and Biblical scenes. This exhibition presents some 60 of them, along with works in copper and carved wood plus previously unseen collages.
