The Nice museum continues its programme with photography alchemist Jean-Michel Fauquet, who uses drawing, painting and sculpture to create his etching-like images. Through this studio work employing humble materials he invites us to awaken our memories and let our imaginations wander in order to reconstruct tales. Nothing is ordinary in Jean-Michel Fauquet’s oeuvre, neither form nor content. His unusual supports and printing processes enable him to create a very personal lighting and forms that are architectural, organic or anthropomorphic. On occasion presented like altarpieces, his visually disquieting pictures open up new paths of reading.
