Celebrating the kind of live music that pushes back boundaries and crosses borders, this festival showcases top international musicians and talented young ones. The ambitious new season kicks off with Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles, followed by virtuoso bass guitarist and festival regular Marcus Miller. There’s a date with Stacey Kent for a magical concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, another with the legendary duo of pianist Chick Corea and drummer Steve Gadd, and concerts by Christophe, Texas, Diego El Cigala, Stochelo Rosenberg, James Carter and other jazz-scene stars. This 12th festival ends with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, whose retro reworkings of contemporary hits made them an online sensation, and the irresistible Puppini Sisters. A festival that duly honours jazz of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
