The latest show from Emma Dante, actor, filmmaker, stage director and founder of Palermo’s Sud Costa Occidentale company, is not to be taken lightly, especially with the 14 male and female dancers performing totally naked! Bestie di Scena deals with “a community in flight,” Dante explains. “Like Adam and Eve turned out of Paradise, the beasts gather on a stage full of traps and temptations: the place of sin, the earthly world. Like children, they believe in their games and let themselves be taken in to the point of madness. They dance, sing, scream, argue, seduce, go crazy, love, laugh, fight...” The very essence of this artist’s work resonates loudly throughout this spectacular piece with its unusual atmosphere.
