As of 19 June the shopping mall’s visitors will feel like modern-day Lilliputians! As part of its fourth exhibition programme and following Philippe Ramette’s unsettling photographs last year, France’s first open-air retail complex will display a dozen of Lilian Bourgeat’s “augmented objects” sculptures, two of them never previously shown, along its paths and in its squares. Since the early 2000s this French artist (born 1970) has manipulated the spectacular by enlarging everyday items such as boots, barrows, tables and chairs, coat racks and the like. Our familiar world rendered imposing is disconcerting to say the least, but this exhibition titled “Measured” is sure to delight children and adults alike!
