The ghost haunting Nice’s Prom’ is of course the fantastic, sorely regretted Casino de la Jetée-Promenade (1883-1944), symbol of the Belle Epoque Côte d’Azur’s high-society opulence. Now the town’s archaeology museum has resuscitated it in an exhibition overviewing the underwater archaeological explorations undertaken in 2015 and 2016, their discoveries affording fresh insight into the pier that was bombed out of existence in the Second World War. The exhibition includes archive documents, archaeological finds, items from public and private collections, and audiovisual testimonies.
