Inès is both daughter and granddaughter of jewellers. She was trained by her father, Bernard, a byword in the luxury business in Nancy and Strasbourg. She studied law, learned to cut diamonds and passed her gemmology diploma in Antwerp in 2011. Jewellery is her passion. What she loves most is creating unique pieces. “I love being in contact with our beautiful customers and helping them for the great moments in their lives,” she says. “We have a profound respect for the codes of our craft, but we add our own touch of freshness and modernity. We demystify fine jewellery. We strip down the superfluous so that a wider public can discover the essence and purity of the gem.” And it works. People come to the shop for pure pleasure. Diamonds are the stars, of course, but they are not alone. Bertrand Valer is a gemologist specialising in coloured gems, and he’s also a watch adviser. The big luxury houses of Paris, Milan and Geneva know a good thing when they see it. Jewellers like Messika, Pomellato and Vhernier and watchmakers like Blancpain and Hublot trust the Valers to represent them in Nice. And this is just the start!
