This summer the watch manufacture opened its second shop in the Principality, one that highlights its special relationship with retailer Zegg & Cerlati, Monaco and the yachting world.
The date was 31 July. On the ground floor of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s radically new club house designed by architect Lord Norman Foster, in the presence of celebrities including His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Rolex manufacture unveiled its second Monaco store in association with retailer Zegg & Cerlati. In these sailing-themed premises covering 120m² on two floors, with access from the marina’s quays too, you feel you’re already heading out to sea: walnut and maple parquet like a boat deck, walls displaying stylised regatta images. The nautical feel is compounded by a huge sail stretching up to the mezzanine ceiling while beige leather sofas and comfortable furnishings exude all the elegance of yachting. A store that bears witness to Rolex’s long involvement with regattas.
High seas to ocean depths
The collections of professional timewear and Oyster classics look their very best in this light, spacious waterfront showcase whose treasures include the latest additions to the Cellini line and such models of nautical aesthetics as the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II. Or synonymous with deep-sea diving, the legendary Submariner and the latest version of the Sea-Dweller 4000 designed in 1967 for the pioneering divers of the Comex (Compagnie Maritime d’Expertises). In the Yacht Club that Rolex partners, this store further strengthens the brand’s links with the Principality as partner and sponsor of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters and global Formula 1 partner for the Grand Prix, not to mention its support for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Monaco Blue Initiative.
