Architect Peter Marino has renovated the Croisette store directly after exercising his talents on the jeweller's historic premises on Rome's Via Condotti, so the same inventive stylistic details evoking the brand's Italian, Mediterranean even, tradition, combined with Marino's apposite modern touch. The antique marble so often seen in classic Italian buildings is here used in novel geometrical shapes so as to create a new sense of space, for example in the entrance bronze inserts are mixed with black and white marble. On the floor inside, the five-point Bulgari star in black onyx reminds us of the one in the Rome store, as if symbolising universal equilibrium. The furnishings are by Italian designers such as Franco Albini and Carlo Scapa. Finally, the overall colour scheme of pinky beiges creates a pleasant, comfortable ambience lit by a vintage Murano chandelier. Here Bulgari has unveiled the colourful new variants of its Diva jewellery.
