Two of this French manufacturer’s new products have really grabbed our attention. Philippe Nigro has reinvented the mega-comfort of Ligne Roset foam seating in the Seventies with Manarola. Apparently consisting of a single big cushion on a light but solid wooden frame, its great comfort is due to the meticulous three-part design supporting bottom, lower back and head. Peter Marly has brought us the Spirit of Forest table, a fine style exercise in solid walnut, making perfect sense aesthetically, and technically too since it uses mortice and tenon joints to attach legs to top, as in traditional cabinetmaking. Bravo!
