The heart of the creations by the Orlov jewellery house, founded by Angela and Christian Orlov, is the light from which each gemstone’s sparkle derives. “We decided to focus on colourful pieces rather than diamonds,” says artistic director Angela. Rubies, sapphires and emeralds in breath-taking hues – rare gemstones combined with prestigious knowhow to create romantic pieces (such as this ruby and diamond necklace), made in Valenza, Italy. Established in Monaco five years ago, this summer the jeweller again has an exhibition at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, presenting its models unique in size and shape and drawing inspiration from nature, art and ancient cultures.
